About Your Trainer                    Leslie Hudson, CPDT

Certified Professional Dog Trainer

Passionate. Patient. Persistent. Pet-lover.

These are just a few of the characteristics that describe Leslie. She knows each animal is different, and she will work with yours to give them the specific guidance they need. Whether you’re thinking about getting an animal, have a new pet, or already own a pet with behavioral problems, Leslie is here to help!

First, she will help you discover the cause of the troubling behavior and then develop a treatment plan using positive reinforcement training. She enjoys working with clients to help their pets be more reliably obedient, less fearful, less reactive, and more cooperative during day-to-day life, handling, grooming, and outings in public. Sharing your home with an animal can be a dream or a nightmare. Making sure your animal is well-trained will give both of you more time to enjoy each other's company. Our modern training system is full of fun techniques that will give you and your dog a happier life together.

Leslie has always had a passion for pets and their people. During her childhood, her family ran an all-breed dog rescue, and she was actively involved in a couple of dog training groups. By the time she could legally drive a car, she was an active junior dog handler for the local search and rescue team, certified through National Association for Search and Rescue, a junior obedience handler for AKC Obedience trials, and a volunteer at a local dog training and boarding facility. Needless to say, with the number of dogs she saw she learned a ton.

In her adult life her passion for pets and people only grew, leading her to complete a bachelor’s degree at Indiana University with an individualized major in holistic health for humans, becoming a Certified Professional Dog Trainer, Humane Educator for a nonprofit animal welfare organization, an animal assisted therapy program evaluator and manager, a Pet Tech Pet First Aid and CPR Instructor, and Animal Behavior College Mentor Trainer.

Leslie is devoted to helping pet owners understand, manage, and modify undesirable behaviors. Her services are designed with you and your pet in mind, and she will work as much with you as with your dog. She will help you get your dog reliable on basic commands, under control in distracting environments, reduce your dog's rate of reactivity, play games, and so much more. Email or call to share how she can help you with your dog training goals.
